Lion King

Loved it!! Finally got a chance to go for the famous 'Lion King' Broadway. Did I like it? Well, I kept inching my neck forward while marveling at human's creativity for all I remember. Good use of colors and hues. If one is a theater lover, its probably one of the shows that you can't let go amiss as your curiosity takes the best of you. All I had ever wondered was how in this world would it be possible for humans to portray wild animals on stage, especially the likes of Simba, Mufasa, Timon, Pumbaa, Rafiki and Zazu. Oh, did I just name almost all of them here? Exactly my point. Its a spectacular visual feast when one watches the stampede causing Mufasa's death in Act I. Its all goosebumps when you see the dazzling stars with heavenly vision of Mufasa and Simba staring upwards from grasslands in the song 'He lives in you' in Act II. 'Circle of Life' and 'Hakuna Matata' were winners too.

My only criticism- the cast looked a little fatigued. I don't know if I imagined that or it really was- but
some energy was missing in the body language of the characters! Probably because they had been on a tour for more than a month almost. However, a glimpse at the audience, and you could see amazement, laughter and appreciation all around.

Karan finally liked some Broadway!! Bought a souvenir cup too which made me believe it. Last 2 days of continuous traveling and exhaustion caught up on me quiet early as I reached home and just surrendered to my bed!! Guess what I was humming before I went to sleep..
'In the jungle, the mighty jungle.. the lion sleeps tonight'..... :)
