I am a sheep,
My eyes are gazing the sunset,
I question, “Why is it so?”
The shepherd plays the flute,
It is time to go.
I know now, one from my drove would today again shoot,
“Grass will tomorrow again grow!”
Sun is unruffled and remains mute,
This has been the dilemma for days in row,
To leave or to be a root ?
I am bewildered in wonder while my flock is ready to go.
Before it is too late, my soul is summoned by a touch;
I turn to see the master by my side and I bow.
He smiles at me and that vision is such,
Spell of doubt is gone and I see there’s no more to know.
Now I am cognizant, and I realize this much,
“What would ripe later is what I today sow!”
To the eternal verity-I should clutch,
Today should end, for a new tomorrow to show.
Enlightened by wisdom, fear that engulfed me is gone,
I walk along him, deep in clarity, hesitancy shallow.
Declining sun asks, “What do I do to now mesmerize you?”
I fail to hear him, though I feel the wind and see the river flow.
I am ready to embrace the day that is due,
To walk untrodden paths, to rediscover the universe, from tip to toe!
I am a sheep,
New I saw, old I see, and new I will..
